St David's
St David’s, the smallest city in Europe, is placed centrally on the St David’s peninsula, surrounded by dramatic coastline and award winning beaches. These fantastic physical assets are enhanced with a rich wildlife; a boat trip around Ramsey Island will show you dolphins, seals and seabirds.
The City itself has a very special archaeological heritage. It’s magnificent Cathedral, the Close and the Bishops Palace are wonderfully interesting. There is a fine array of high quality eating places and shops centered around Cross Square, with it’s 14th Century stone cross.
Solva
Solva is quite possibly the most perfectly picturesque village, nestled in a valley at the head of a fine natural harbour. The atmosphere on the quay is quite special, with fishermen landing their catch, children crabbing and quay wall jumping, and people enjoying simply messing about on the water.
The
Coast Path, which skirts the village,
offers stunning views across St Brides Bay, whereas there are pretty wooded
walks inland. The attractive Main Street boasts an unusually good selection
of shops, galleries, cafes pubs and restaurants. The historic city of St
David’s is 3 miles away.
